We’re Still Here

Creative mico-grants for the chronic illness & disability community.

In early 2020, the world was turned upside down by the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, over a year later, people are longing for a “return to normal.” For the chronic illness and disability community however, that “normal” is not something that many can or want to return to.

We’re imagining a world that is far from “normal” - a world that is safe, accessible, and healing. By amplifying the voices and stories of the chronic illness and disability community in ways that are creative and collaborative, we hope we can help others envision that world too.

Afterall, We’re Still Here, and we have stories to tell.

About theWe’re Still Here Grants

In July of 2021, we awarded 14 micro-grants to artists and writers in the chronic illness and disability community. We awarded six $400 grants to visual artists and/or filmmakers and eight $200 grants to writers and/or poets.

Through this project, we hope to support the creation of art that tells the stories of the pandemic and helps to paint a picture of a more accessible future. We hope this project will support individual healing and storytelling, while also amplifying the voices of those who have been most impacted by the pandemic and will continue to be impacted by illness and disability in the years to come.
